When Women Were Bishops - Part II
A theological, biblical and historical look at an on-going debate

(This is the audio recording from Simon's original "When Women Were Bishops' talk from 2014)
In January 2014 Business Connect hosted a series of talks on Women Bishops, looking at the question from a theological, Biblical and historical perspective. Since then the General Synod of the Church of England has voted on the subject and seven women have been recognised as Bishops by the Church of England. Next week the Deanery Synod of Jersey votes on a motion to recognise the Church of England's commitment to the ministry of men and women as Bishops and to start the process of amending Jersey canon law in reflection of this fact. The motion also seeks to make provision in Jersey for those who are not willing to receive the ministry of women as bishops or priests.
In this week's CHOW – "When women were Bishops", Simon Nash reviews the historical and theological arguments for the continuity of women's ministry in the church and how this is exciting good news for the church of today.
