This week at CHOW our speaker is the newly arrived Minister at St Helier Methodist Centre, Tony Morling. Tony and his wife Cathy arrived at SHMC in September 2013 after nine years in East London.
For his CHOW talk, Tony has chosen the subject of Church Cafés, the focus of his recent research project at York St John's University.
Tony's talk will explore questions such as:
Why do so many churches run Cafes as part of their community engagement/mission?
Are they effective? If so, how do they measure their effectiveness?
What makes them different from Starbucks and Costa?
Do all church Cafes share the same mission drivers or do they differ denominationally?
Where does Missio Dei fit in?
