About this session Gavin writes:

"At the heart of the Christian faith lies the subversion of power by love.

The politics of gender have been expressed through the ratcheting of a power struggle between perceived masculine vested interests, and the challenge of feminism to gain 'equality' at all levels.

This secular power struggle has overwhelmed Christian theology and become unchallengeable for most people.

But what if the relations between men and women in the Church were governed not by power struggles but by a different dynamic?

Where is the theology of the feminine in the Church?

It comes through the person and work of the Virgin Mary.

Swopping prestige and power for humility and mutuality, she became the new Eve, as Christ became the new Adam.

Mary has been appearing to the Church regularly speaking with a desperate intensity, usually through children, the least powerful of all members of our society, calling the Church to a different way of doing gender and power.

For example, in 1968 President Nassar of Egypt was so overwhelmed at her appearances at Zeitoun, that he cleared part of  down town Egypt opposite the Church were she appeared and funded a Cathedral in her honour.

If you haven't heard about the apparitions and interventions of Mary, and given some thought to the subversiveness of the Christian feminine as a better model that the secular power driven secular feminism, here is your opportunity."
