A Special Event Debate with James Featherby
We brought together leaders from the Jersey communities of business, politics and civil society to hear fresh ideas on the role of the market in creating wealth and the possible limits on free markets that might be needed for the common good.
The event features a presentation of his new book "Of markets and men" by City lawyer James Featherby and a response and debate by two representatives of Jersey's finance and business communities. (Copies of James' book are available from Business Connect, please contact us on info@businessconnect to arrange purchase.)
James Featherby has worked in the City for more than 30 years. For most of this time he was a corporate finance partner of Slaughter and May, regarded by many as 'the' City law firm.
He is now personally and professionally involved in a number of investment activities in the UK and Africa.
Our other panellists are:
Senator Alan Maclean – Minister for Economic Development.
John Boothman – Chairman of Jersey Telecom and non-exec Chairman on Aztec financial services
